With all the negativity this last week I like to leave my possitivity with happy Friday to all this weekend. Starts with one person at a time.

+1 Benny.

And while we’re all out racing for the deals this weekend, how about after buying the flat screens, iPhones and other materialistic garbage we all seem to need these days, we all pause to reflect and seek out a needy charity that could use some help feeding the homeless.

Perhaps donate what you would have spent in Starbucks or Tim Horton’s that day. Every bit helps.

Food bank is a good start. St. Vincent De Paul on Second Ave feeds three squares a day to the homeless or poverty stricken.

A lot of us are one pay cheque or one lay off away from possibly needing help from the food bank. The food doesn’t magically appear. They need the donations.

Pay it forward folks.

Happy Friday!

February?

Editor’s note:
Glad to see you are awake! Thanks for catching that mindless moment of an overtired writer. It has been corrected!

Elaine

not just February but nearing the end of. Did u not get the memo? With the introduction of the FLUX CAPACITER time has been mixed up. I know you will be able to handle it.

Wow, very nice thoughts for the start to a Friday! Thank you!
Yes, we can do well when we want to. Keep it up. A wonderful Friday and weekend to everyone!

Brrrrr. Its cold out there! Have a great weekend, and try and stay warm!

Sad to see the contractor for the unfinished passing lane to Vanderhoof left their site with so many safety issues. One has to wonder how they thought it would work out any different when they started the contract so late in the season, and even though we had one of the best falls on record they were still not able to complete before winter.

My big concern though is about half way through the unfinished passing lane on the South side ditch they still have this massive rock with a flat face sticking up about three feet from their finely groomed ditch. This make me vary mad they would be allowed to leave it like that, because it is only a matter of time until some kid is blasting fresh power along that area and smokes this anomaly resulting in serious injury or death.

We know kids and adults will ride their snowmobile along the road side in the rural areas like that. To leave a known hazard like that to me says they should be liable when this incident does take place, and I hope they get sued for everything they have for such a deliberate hazard.

To me its akin to setting a bobby trap on a trail for an unsuspecting traveling public. All they would have to do is blast the rock, or short of that at least dump a few buckets of gravel around the face of the rock to make a small mound, but to leave it as is will do harm to someone maybe not this year, but guaranteed in the years to come.

They could send a dump truck out and have it remedied in an afternoon if they cared about site safety. Companies like that should be black listed from public contracts.

Good news that the federal government has decided to exempt the Syrian refugees from the loan repayment for transportation costs to Canada. Hopefully soon this burdensome practice will apply to all refugees seeking safety here.

Findme had the same reaction too!! February- I wish, because that would mean the downhill slide to spring. Black Friday is just a marketing tool to get you into the stores!! We don’t celebrate American Thanksgiving! We had ours already.

With developments this week on the international isis front, I would like to see some Canadian politicians speak up against Turkey and its President Erdogan.

Turkey should be kicked out of NATO for:
– Trying to start a war with Russia downing a plane that was taking the fight to terrorists.
– Supporting isis with oil sales and acting as its logistics center.
– Blackmailing Europe with the refugee crisis they enabled asking for 3-Billion Euro to stop the flow.
– Using the isis crisis to opportunistically bomb the Kurds in their support of isis.

Putin is reported to have showed Obama pictures, at the G20 summit in Turkey, with up to 500 fuel trucks from isis controlled areas lined up to cross the boarder into Turkey with stolen oil. Obama did nothing, so Putin started to bomb them and took out over 250 in one day prior to their plane being shot down. Erdogan showed his true allegiance retaliating for this attack on the isis money supply. Turns out Erdogan’s son is the ring leader bringing the oil deliveries into Turkey and thus the financial kingpin behind isis.

Obama finally started to bomb these fuel trucks this week, but only after first dropping fliers to let them know in case any ‘moderate’ terrorists supported by America get caught in the bombing. The American general in charge said they don’t believe the truck drivers were isis, but rather just hired civilians… hired civilians working for isis.

Erdogan is a war criminal in our time. He supports isis, his son is the ring leader in the isis fuel smuggling that finances isis. Erdogan is one of the primary the sources of the refugee crisis and suffering, which would not have happened without his regimes complicity. Erdogan should not have a war guarantee with Canadian soldiers as the pawns that give his nation cover for their crimes.

NATO nations should not be used as defacto human shields for a war criminal and Canadian politicians with any sense of ethics should start to speak up and be counted IMO.

With the fuel trucks, and the downing of the Russian plane, we know what side Turkey and Erdogan are on and they are not on the side of civilization.

I see they forgot to give Eagleone special mention in today’s rules. Watch out! :)

(In all seriousness, I have no issue scrolling past stuff I don’t want to read. Or has too many words for me!)

Lol…Only in Abbotsford:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/cow-shot-abbotsford-review-1.3335775

When he’s right, he’s right. I have to agree with Eagleone on Turkey. Not that long ago, Turkey was an ally, but under Erdoğan it has crossed over to the dark side. The regime is increasingly authoritarian, continues to repress the Kurds, and supports Islamic extremists.

Check out youtube and see that Putin is playing real hard ball with the air strikes. They write ‘Remember Paris’ on the bombs. Particularly cool are the gunships in action. Won’t be surprised their special forces (speznats?) will be putting on the sunglasses and getting in some holiday time in Syria. Don’t think they’ll need much training from our guys…

On the news last night vancouver had another traffic nightmare.. Sky train seems to be have more and more problems. So people are driving more as a result the traffic is even slower, add the power outage last night. Now the 1.5-2 hr commute turns into a 4 hr one.. add in the house prices, yikes.

Nice to be in PG.. 15 min any direction and you are out of the city. Hunting, fishing and other outdoor sports readily available as well. Can afford a house.. a traffic jam to me is waiting 2 lights.. PG aint so bad :)

Have a great weekend everyone.

I think that it would be fair to say that Turkey is not the only Country in the Middle East that covertly supports isis,.

My understanding is that they get money from various sources in the Middle East. Isis after all is primarily a Sunni organization, with many of its members from the old Saddam Hussian regime.

There is always more to these conflicts than the general public ever knows about.

It has been said many times that the first casualty of war is truth. I doubt that this conflict is any different.

Always enjoy the Friday Foofaraw.

Glad to see gas prices heading down this time of the year. Nice to able to save a few bucks at the pumps, every bit counts. Hoping gas
prices stabilize for a few months.

Russia was warned to stop flying in Turkey’s airspace… they continued and got shot down.
Russia has not had any qualms about shooting down aircraft in their air space, without giving a warning. Including passenger aircraft.
This was a war bird….big difference.
My biggest issue was the pilots being shot or shot at as they floated down in their parachutes….
Russia will continue to rattle its sabers because that is what they do.

This is a message to the parents of Ron Brent Students, people living in the Connaught area, to people that use the green space at Ron Brent Park. We could loose this Park if we are not on our toes. This is the message we got from the City…… NOTICE FOR RESIDENTS RON BRENT MEETING THURSDAY DECEMBER 3rd 2015. THE CITY of Prince George would like your feedback on future uses for Ron Brent Park. A meeting will be hosted on Thursday December 3rd at Ron Brent School, where City Staff will be available to gather feedback and answer questions . My father owned the property in the 1950s he was told the City need it for the School and he had to sell it to them or they would take it , he got six thousand for that large chunk of property and now it looks like they want to sell it, my mother is still alive if they do sell it they should compensate our family.

Some people need to get over the man crush for Putin.

He is directly responsible for bringing down MH17 in the Ukraine killing 295 innocent people. He has also been sending stategic bombers potentially armed with nukes directly at North America and Western Europe borders including flying though civilian airspace in some of the most crowded flightpaths in all of Europe with all transponders off rendering the mid air crash avoidance systems on the civilian plane useless.

Now that Turkey has splashed one of his bombers maybe he will tone down the sabre rattling a bit.

Here is how wonder boy is spending your money

The biggest scam ever. UNBC still has not announced who the are sending to the party in Paris. Seems to be a secret/

Information that rent seeking climate scientists, tax sucking politicians and main stream media do not want you to see

“Unlike many members of the public, the authors of this paper are well equipped to understand the IPCC’s charts and calculations. They declare that there “is not a single fact, figure or observation that leads us to conclude that the world’s climate is in any way ‘disturbed.”’ Rising sea levels, they say, are a “normal phenomenon” that have “nothing to do with so-called global warming.” Moreover, while they admit humanity has had some effect on the climate, they consider human influence to be:”

Don’t like the post then refute it with facts and unadjusted data.

tiny, quite negligible in comparison with natural causes. Nature makes major changes, human beings make small ones, which our natural arrogance lends a significance they simply do not have. [p. 4]

On this day in 2006 Canadian House of Commons approves a motion, tabled by Prime Minister Stephen Harper, recognizing the Quebecois as a nation within Canada.
this is the same guy that called Trudeau ” a separatist ” .

Hats off for Turkeys military . The thing that must really be on Putins mind is how easily NATO was able to knock down their super fighter bomber . With all their buligerance towards the west of late this is a good lessen for this little man .

Curious: does anyone know why every school in town is surrounded by streets with school zone speed limits – except Duchess Park? You can whistle down Winnipeg at any time of day at city speeds.

I’m positive there are school zone signs on Winnipeg.

I believe the problem with ISIS, is that anybody that supports them could be anywhere in the world, including Prince George BC. The convienently hide in the general population. How do you fight that.

France, Russia, United States, Canada, Germany, all the countries that want to squash ISIS has to be in the same room and determine who supports who.

Unfortunately, anyone who is actively involved in ISIS, regardless of what nation needs to be identified and inprisoned. There would be a need for Canada to make a new law, yada, yada. and boom we are at war against ISIS in our own country and we will deal with the ones who are actively involved. The difference is, actively involved and supporters are two different things, well in Canada it is.

Unfortunately to deal with Syria, Iraq and Turkey, and that region. the forces needs to be on the ground and closing in on the epicenter. Only those cleared can squeak thru behind the ground forces. It may take 12 months, it may take 24 months. But the march begins. Any governments supporting the ISIS needs to be dealt with.

Putin, well, he has to realize that he has shot down a few civilian planes as well. Sure, Turkey Prime Minister is soft to ISIS, but he still have the right to shoot down unauthorized planes over his nation. It is too bad Turkey wants to hide behind NATO. May be their annual membership needs to be reviewed at the beginning of January. I think the brains behind the US and Russian military is already working on something, and miraculously, A Walmart will open in Syria and Turkey, with the biggest parking lot you have ever seen. Carpet bombing starts on Monday.

Open up your wallets folks, Junior is on a spending spree…

“Trudeau pledges $2.65B to help poor countries fight climate change”

… yes OTHER countries, not this one.

The school zone sign does not have a speed limit number posted on it. With out the speed limit it is only a warning sign not a school zone speed restriction.

The inconvenient truth about murdered and missing aboriginal women.

“In 2014, the RCMP released a Canada-wide report on the number of missing and murdered aboriginal women, indicating that 1,181 aboriginal women were victims of homicide between 1980 and 2012.

The Statistics Canada release Wednesday shows aboriginal men were three times more likely to be victims of homicide than aboriginal women.

“The reality is the homicide rate for aboriginal men is much higher and has always been much higher,” said Neil Boyd, director of the school of criminology at Simon Fraser University.”

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/manitoba-posts-highest-homicide-rate-in-canada-for-8th-consecutive-year-1.3336201?cmp=rss

There is a huge problem but where does the problem lie.

Your right seamutt. Unless the sign shows **slow to 30km** it is just a warning.

I guess they feel that the students at Duchess are mature enough to stay off the roads and avoid traffic.

Bow hunting with in the city limits:

I am totally amazed at why this is an issue at all.

– Has there ever been an issue with public safety around this legal activity? NO.

– 3rd hand information on a deer running around with an arrow stuck in it – were the
proper authorities notified? NO.

– PETA, do they have any Canadian affiliates? NO.

– Who contacted CBC Radio to interview the PETA representative? It’s unlikely anyone will admit to that one.

– The promoter(s)of this ban have what motive? Certainly not safety as there have been no incidents. Certainly not the animal as the majority eat meat and use products derived from animals.

– The use of a bow for hunting is not primitive. The promoter(s) of this initiative need to educate themselves on this subject before going the social media route.

– Hopefully, City Council will realize that this is a non-starter.

The very word “ban” should strike fear into everyone. Everyone has their favorite cause. You would like to ban dogs over 25 pounds, I’d like to ban religion, etc. Banning takes away all options for innovation and compromise. The only thing that should be banned is banning itself.

Brother gecko… yes… he is honoring a commitment Steven Harper made.. I know its to bad we cant get out of it…but harper gave us the middle finger as he left office thanks to this and TPP..

Well I see you have an air quality advisory in PG. I thought you had me convinced that all the smell was in Abby. But we only have smell not PM2.5 particulate that will put you in the hospital. actually its worse the tobacco. Well enjoy.

Today the sun is shining in Abby and we have lots of clean fresh air
Cheers

All that smell in ABBY is from burning sky trains and millions of vehicles stuck in traffic jams.. ah..the smell of car exhaust in the morning..reminds me of over priced housing ;)

How did this new Garbage system save us money? It keeps going up each year?

P Val, well bush bunny I guess you have never been near Abby to make such a dum statement.
Chers

Mr.Minus aka the Crapitsford troll gets more thumbs down than the latest Adam Sandler flic haha.

Oh and btw that is not the sun but another muzzle flash from the latest valley gang war. DUCK!

Codger, I think we better start banning idiots. Then the rest of us including you will be better off.

retired 02.. name calling..really… you are usually better than that..guess I struck a nerve..

I see UNBC is going to protest climate change, duh. I guess those rentseekers up the hill deny climate change is natural or more worried about loosing the funding for their unscientific research.

Still no announcement how many climate scientist or whatever up the hill will be jumping on the carbon trail to Paris for a taxpayer funded party.

P Val. Seems you cannot stop making untrue statements and knocking Harper. Its people like you who report drivel and try to pass it off as facts.

Here’s the real skinny on the climate change contributions to poorer Countries.

The Conservative Government contributed $1.5 Billion to these Countries. Trudeau announced that the Liberals would contribute $2.65 Billion. This amount was over and above the Conservative contribution, so we are looking at a total of $4 Billion.

$4Billion exceeds the target that the environmentalists groups said should be Canada’s contribution.

So the Trudeau pledge has absolutely nothing to do with Harper or the Conservative Government.

So, Brother Gecko right. P Val wrong.

yeahhh heard bout that lady at the Mall having pics taken with Santa with her special needs kid??? Guess she thought the world revolved around her and that she required special consideration.. She was soo rude and inconsiderate to the staff.. They shoulda booted her out the door.. Sets bad example for the young people

I wonder if the shooter in Colorado this evening is a crusader ? Don’t you just love religion ? Don’t you just love people that want to mind your business for you ?

Colour me surprised! A quick look at google maps and it’s just the warning sign, not a 30 kmh zone.

Doesn’t anyone care about the billions spent on the false science? Heating, energy costs going up for what? Over a thousand coal fired plants being built and those dimwits in Alberta are going to shut theirs down and for what? Higher costs for families. Some day when the scam breaks climate scientists, politicians will have a lot to answer for.
