I have some serious questions this week about Canada’s Bill C-51, the loyalty to Canada of Stephen Harper and the security intelligence under his government, and the safety of Trudeau when he makes his Israel visit coming up.

For a large part of the world the rise of isis is the geopolitical crisis of our times. So right from the get go questions should have been asked as to who is it that are the master minds that enable such a terrorist organization to thrive.

We know that the fuel and oxygen that enables isis is their $100 million a month in oil sales, and their use of Oxycontin to fuel their fighters with brainwashing.

Now thanks in part to Putin, we know more about the full story behind the oil sales.

We know that the Erdogan family is in deep with the oil smuggling and other logistical needs of isis. But are they the real masterminds? We know that the Erdogan sons run the oil smuggling of stolen Iraqi and Syrian oil, and that the Erdogan daughter runs the hospitals on the Turkish border that treats isis soldiers.

We know that Saudi Arabia has a oil war with Russia and is attempting to put the North American oil industry out of business with cheep oil. Alberta has 35,000 recent lay offs as a result. The Royal house of Saudi will go along with any plan that achieves this goal.

We now know that isis oil is selling for only $20 a barrel, with half up front by the smugglers, and the remaining paid once it reaches market. We know that this $20 oil has a 100% arbitrage mark up at current oil prices for those that can turn unethical stolen oil that is illegal to sell on the open market, and turn it into legal oil legitimized through shipping process.

So it turns out since the G-20 meeting the Russian and now the Americans have combined for taking out 1300 oil tanker trucks delivering this stolen oil to Turkey. We now know the oil was shipping from the Turkish port of Ceyhan via Bilal Erdogan tankers of BMZ Group to the Israeli port of Ashlon where it is refined and sold as legal oil on the world markets. It turns out 75% of the oil exported from Israel is oil that was stolen from Iraq and Syria via both the Kurds and isis. This oil is then shipped via Malta where it does off shore ship to ship transfers to hide its source of origin and is then shipped to Galveston Texas, Italy, and Japan. The arbitrage of profits above $20 a barrel is used to buy politicians, regulators and grease the wheels of this illegal trade. As well isis makes $100 million a month to finance their terror.

This cheep isis oil kills the oil market, no different than it did under Saddam after the first gulf war when he was selling it for $10-$20 a barrel through this same route. Probably his same old generals in charge of the racket.

This oil racket gives Turkey a monopoly over the Kurds and isis in oil for arms shipments. It allows Turkey to dismantle its neighbors through proxy, and use the instability to generate executive powers for the Erdogan family in Turkey.

So how did our Canadian security intelligence miss this allowing it to happen in the open? Is this all related to the $2 Billion dollars that the Canadian security intelligence lost and was unaccounted for under Harper?

From what I can understand isis has three main masterminds that give it life:
#1 The ring leader is global zionism (political) under the direction of Netanyahu who runs the arbitrage scheme to legitimize the stolen oil, supplies the drugs to influence the losers that fight for isis, and provides the military leadership.
#2 The logistics and political cover for isis is run out of Turkey under the guidance and profiteering of the Erdogan family.
#3 The arms and fighters rat line is run by Shakisvilli the local governor of Odessa in Ukraine, and former President of Georgia that organizes the arms shipments through Ukraine and Georgia to Turkey, as well as the extremists from the former Soviet Union states into Syria and Iraq.

I think Obama is a traitor to international rule of law, and I think any world leaders that go along with keeping these things quite is also a traitor to the rule of law.

I worry that Justine Trudeau going to Israel is either to get his marching orders from Netanyahu, or to feel him out to see if he will be allowed to continue or not. It will be interesting to see how Turdeau handles this trip considering all that is now known about the isis rat lines and oil smuggling.

Super for the City to make sure all the downtown burnt out streetlights to be fixed, and I think that that talked to many of the business owners about fixing theirs also, as many of the dark store fronts are lit up. The courthouse also. Could we please light up 3 more lights that have been burnt out for more than a year(yes, even the winter games, sadly). I’m interested in people’s thoughts on the topic of Islam.

Currently, Muslim’s birthrate is greater than the national birthrate, so in theory, by birth alone, Canada is eventually going to become a Muslim country.

Fair enough, Christians did the same thing when they took it over from the First Nations.

But, a lot of the Christians that came to Canada, were fleeing persecution, and as such were much more tolerant – and became even more tolerant over time, which is why today in Canada you are free to believe what you want. The majority of Canadians still consider themselves Christian, but see no need to make everyone live as they do.

Islam I’m not so sure will take the same path. On the day that Islam has 51% of the vote, do you think women’s rights will still exist, that we will be able to consume alcohol, women can dress as they want, drive, have a vote, etc. Will Gays still be able to have a parade, get married.

I guess my question is, do we have a duty to prevent this from happening – i.e., restricting immigration based on religion, or do we just let the chips fall where they may and our great great great granddaughters curse us.

I mean, it’s no big deal to me, I’ll be dead, but it’s kind of like national debt, we just keep kicking the problem down the road and expect the infants of today to fix it. Or is there anything to fix.

LMAO! People are simply braindead and don’t even know they have their high beams on most of the time. The scary thing is they are actually permitted a drivers licence.

We have a constitution that doesn’t allow for things like that to happen just because 1 political party holds the majority of power, so the chances of that happening anytime in the next couple hundred years is minimal. If you are talking millennia then nothing we do now or even what our grandchildren do is going to change the natural order of evolution.

Good point Bent, except Quebec has been running over language rights for decades using the notwithstanding clause in the constitution. And we have seen election after election where government is formed with much less than a majority. If Muslim’s vote as a block, they don’t need 50%. It could be done with much less. Look how much influence the East Indian population has politically, and they make up about 3.5% of the population. I don’t think it would take a 1000 years, especially if they migrate to one area and achieve political control there.

Ski , you have nothing to worry about . The fastest growing religious demographic is irreligion of which atheism is the majority . Atheists come from all religions . In some Islamic countries it is a crime to leave their brand of Islam and the penalty is death . Irreligion is at 25 % in canada and growing . Islam is 3% . Nobody knows what the future will bring. Religion/spirituality may be much more of a personal thing than belonging to any religious organizations. These may even become obsolete or irrelevant and not pass the test of time.

I am disgusted with Shirley Bond who has always taken on matters of importance and whom is now really letting me down. I have been chasing her photo-ops watching her lovely smile in the news week after week as she skirts my complaints to her about a very important matter. You see, the hospital has almost every bathroom without a sanitary fan to discharge odorous germs which become airborne during flushing and after commode use. It is embarrassing to the last person using the bathroom and hazardous to the next occupant. Almost every bathroom in the hospital has no toilet seat which has a lid. This is a proven health hazard only during the flushing stage but a simple repairable fix for cheap. Is this not an institution for healing and sanitary hygiene?

I have contacted Shirley Bond six months ago and was assured she would look into the matter and get back to me. I appreciate she has to be present for fairs town meetings in communities and the like but to me these are a far less priority while an unsanitary act is being continued many times per day in the hospital where we have to endure odours just to visit sick family or worse, have to endure airborne germination while in care to heal our sicknesses.

Please folks, you could end up in there. Help protect these neglected sick people in there now. Call your MLA. We have to do something. It is extremely unhealthy. Check it out. I researched it for four months while a patient in there.

You guys are probably right, but remember that investment maxim – the power of compounding interest. If there are 3 million atheists having 1.6 children per couple, in one generation there will be 2.4 million atheists, two generations 2.0 – you are not replacing yourselves. If there are today 1 million religion X – and they have a birth rate of 4 children per couple, in one generation, there will be two million religion X, in two generations – 4 million. Birth rate is the issue. If religion X immigrates to Canada, and adopts a replacement birthrate of 2.0, they would still eventually succeed, because Canadians are about 1.6 right now. If they adopt our birthrate, then the makeup of Canada would be determined by who is allowed to immigrate here. If we had at least a static birthrate, then yes, it could take a millennium to wipe out our culture.

I suggest that using statistics to determine the future composition of the religious makeup of Canada in the future is inappropriate. It assumes that all children of religious groups will always accept their parents’ religion and will believe and act in exactly the same way. Obviously, the past proves this fundamental assumption to be untrue. Experience is that many children of immigrants change from having a spiritually based religious faith to being nominal, or cultural members of that faith. The religious component becomes less important and the cultural component becomes more important. It is also very common for children and grandchildren of immigrants to adopt Canadian cultural practices rather than retain the cultural practices of their ancestral homeland. I see this in my own children who know absolutely nothing about the culture of Britain and are completely Canadian, and irreligious to boot.

I do not see that there should be any fear of a takeover by Muslim hordes at the expense of the divine right of Christians. Both groups are going to end up as cultural Canadians. I fully expect that even those immigrants who wear hijabs and other head coverings will have grandchildren who will not use them in any significant degree. There will always be exceptions, of course, as there are among Christian groups, but I see them as insignificant minorities with little influence on Canadian society as a whole. Remember that Canadian social practices in the areas of birth control, divorce, marriage and abortion have come about despite the, sometimes intense, opposition of Christian religious groups when Christianity was the dominant faith. I fully expect the same to happen with other faith groups and expect Canadian society to continue to develop along the road it has already chosen.

Thanks ammonra. That makes good sense. But something I’ve noticed here in PG that partially rebuffs that assumption is the low participation rate of non-Europeans in common PG outdoor endeavors. Go to Otway, rarely see Indo-Canadians out there taking up the sport of X-country skiing. Downhill skiing you do see a few more, but basically, they appear to form enclaves and stick to their traditional pastimes which interferes with cultural assimilation. Because the children live in the enclaves, the opportunity to adapt to Canadian culture is somewhat stifled.

Let’s look at Richmond. Mandarin is becoming the official language – how did that happen if the children had taken on Canadian culture?

Like I said, this won’t happen in my lifetime, likely not in anyone now living’s lifetime, but if we don’t form a more melting pot attitude toward immigration vs our celebration of diversity approach, it really is more a matter of time.

That’s already a small sample group. Most people in PG don’t partake in those activities. I think you’re confusing things you like to do with things that others like to do.

I’d suggest looking at things most people like to do and see how it breaks out. You also have to factor in population makeup. You won’t have equal representation if the populations are different.

People will also have different cultural norms. Hockey used to be more popular than soccer, now it isn’t. Things change.

I notice the city has been very quiet about the 400 thousand plus they have okayed for the Hart Skate board park.
They don’t seem to have money for the necessary stuff but they seem to be more than flush for this and of course the covered picnic tables ( another $400thousand plus).

Retired 02 – What if you’re turning left?

In the city limits, in any city, both lanes are for volume, and on/off traffic from both sides.

Keep right except to pass only applies to highways over 80km per hr and where signs indicate it.

This is very true at off-on ramps on multilane divided highways. A majority of I-5 drivers switch from right to left if the left is clear just before arriving at a merge lane coming in from a ramp. Some drivers do that on the TransCanada in the Valley, but not as many as on I-5.

Drivers hogging the left lane at other times are rare on I-5. I find that people are starting to get used to the European system in using the “light horn” to move people over. It is far safer than moving into the right lane to pass someone hogging the left lane.

I find that there are far more cars with Canadian licenses hogging the left lane than those with US licenses.

I watched a German documentary recently of a Syrian Muslim family who had been accepted as residents in Germany. It was a single parent family of two teenage girls having a discussion of whether to go back to Syria or not if things there would ever become safe for them to return.

The mother wanted to go back because she missed the traditional courtyard house they lived in where she could wake up to flowers. She missed the garden hose and the broom used to sweep the stone pavement in the courtyard. They were living in a modern and well maintained apartment in Germany, but no direct access to such private outdoor space.

The girls were going to schools and seemed to be mixing in with German classmates, learning the language and enjoying the freedom they had in Germany where they were accepted as equals to boys, unlike in Syria. They learned how to ride bicycles, which they were not allowed to use in Syria, for instance.

They argued that they wanted to stay; that the whole purpose of leaving Syria was to find a safer and better place to live. They thought that was exactly what they got.

With the close proximity to other cultures, the minority culture, especially when it left the homeland because of oppression, will be affected the most. It will take a generation. That change was already evident after just a year or two for those depicted in the documentary.

I think it would be beneficial to show such documentaries in Canada and the USA where there a far too many negative misconceptions, in my opinion.

The Snap Lake mine was in trouble right from day one. Management tried everything to fix all the problems they had but nothing worked. It is an underground mine and very expensive to operate.
