Prince George, B.C. – Prince George RCMP have at least one person in custody following a police pursuit on the southern edge of the city this morning.
According to witness accounts several police vehicles, one estimate put it at a dozen, were involved in the attempt to pull over a fleeing pick-up truck south of the Prince George airport.
The driver of the truck eventually lost control, with the vehicle winding up in the ditch off Bowron Road. One male, apparently uninjured, was taken into custody there.
Truck lays on its side in ditch with suspect laying at side of road.
Meantime a bystander said that following that take-down there were still officers in numerous police vehicles combing other roads in the area, perhaps looking for more suspects.
Several police cruisers involved in the pursuit took positions on Highway 97 south.
It is not known what sparked the incident at this time.
