Fatal Crashes Remain Under Investigation

Prince George, B.C.- Alcohol   has been ruled out as a contributing factor in two  separate collisions yesterday which claimed two lives.

The first happened on Bearhead  Road near Vanderhoof around 10:30 in the morning.  A mini-van collided with a  logging truck.  The driver of the mini van,  a 65 year old man,  was pronounced  deceased at the scene.  His name will not be released.

The second collision  took place  south of 100 Mile House  on Highway 97 near Ainsworth Road shortly after 1 in the afternoon.

According to witnesses, a southbound Mini made a U-turn in the middle of the road and was struck on the passenger side by a Northbound SUV.

The passenger in the minivan, a 68 year old woman, from Vancouver, was pronounced deceased at the scene and the drivers of each vehicle were sent to hospital with serious but believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Names have not been released.

Both  collisions remain under investigation.
