Fatality Reported in Salmon Valley Collision
Prince George, B.C. – A fatality has been confirmed in a two-vehicle, head-on collision this morning on Highway 97 north in Salmon Valley.
A witness at the scene says the collision, which occurred around 10 this morning, involved an S-U-V and another vehicle which was towing a snowmobile trailer.
At this time it is unclear whether there have been other injuries in this accident. Emergency personnel and RCMP accident reconstruction specialists are still on scene.
Highway 97 is closed to all traffic and will be for an as yet indefinite period. Vehicles are being re-routed on Old Summit Lake Road.
Road conditions in the Prince George area are very slippery in some locations. Motorists are advised to drive with caution and according to road conditions.

I traveled south on Friday. The hwy was a skating rink from PG up to where the greyhound lost it. The hill from there to Hixon was covered in dirt. Hixon south was pretty good.
That sucks.
Local roads -both in and out of city limits- were absolutely brutal this morning; I haven’t seen black ice that bad in a long time.
