Arrest in College Heights – Update

Monday, January 18, 2016 @ 4:01 PM

Prince George, B.C.- One person is in custody and facing multiple charges following a strange turn in a suspected shoplifting case in Prince George.

A little after 3 pm, store security at a retail business on the 5000 block of Domano Boulevard in the College Heights area approached a person who was attempting to leave the store with a television that hadn’t been paid for.

According to the RCMP, the suspect then brandished “an edged weapon”, and took off. The store security person was not injured.

Police have since tracked down their suspect with the help of a police service dog team and the RCMP’s Air 4 helicopter and made an arrest in the parking lot of Ecole College Heights Elementary School.

Some students and parents were on the school property at the time, but no one was hurt. The television has not yet been recovered.

Police say the 27 year old suspect is known to them and is also wanted on a previous warrant for breaching conditions of his Undertaking.

He will be held in custody overnight at least until his first court appearance tomorrow. Anyone with any information about this case is asked to call police.

The judge said, if you promise to be a good boy and don’t threaten anyone you can leave. I promise judge, cross my heart.

Thumbs up to the RCMP for doing an amazing job getting this idiot. The guy was caught at College Heights Elementary, and they swarmed him pretty hard. Kudos to them for surrounding the school ahead of time, thinking of the kids. Great Job!
