Prince George, B.C. – Two people are in police custody following an assault in Prince George last night.

RCMP Corporal Craig Douglass says just after 6:00 p.m. police received a report of an assault that occurred in a parking lot on the 2200 block of Highway 97 in the Hart.

He says a firearm was also reported to have been seen. Several police responded however two suspects fled prior to police arrival.

Douglass says it’s believed that two adult victims had been threatened with a rifle and sideswiped while driving on an area road.

The incident ended in the parking lot where an adult female was assaulted. The suspects and the victims are known to each other.

Just before 7:00 p.m., the suspects were located in a vehicle on Foothills Boulevard near Highland Drive. A 20 year old male and a 19 year old female were arrested without incident.

Douglass says a realistic looking airsoft rifle was located in the vehicle and seized as evidence.

He says the pair will appear in court later today likely facing a number Criminal Code charges.
