Emergency Repair Will Leave Thousands in the Dark
Prince George, B.C. – BC Hydro needs to make an emergency repair, and it means power will be cut to 9,000 customers north of the Nechako River.
BC Hydro spokesperson, Bob Gammer, says power will be cut at 1:30 this afternoon, and likely won’t be back on until 4 this afternoon.
“We have a broken cross arm on a transmission pole, also there was a motor vehicle collision with a pole this morning” says Gammer. He says the repairs cannot be made while the lines are ‘live’ so the power will have to be shut down
“This will affect customers north of the Nechako River, so, those in the Hart, Nuko Lake, and Ness Lake areas.”
Luckily, this is the first day of spring break for schools in the area, so there won’t be any impact to students.
Gammer says it is hoped the repairs can be made in less that the allotted time, but they can’t be certain.

I’m thinking they finally found the problem with those short outages. Thanks BCH.
I sure wish that we hade more notice about the outage. Not everyone listens to the radio, or lives on computers all day. I had 10? minutes notice.
They send me my bill via email, you would think they could notice of an upcoming 3.5 hour power especially when the outage occurs during working hours!
