Prince George, B.C.  –  There  are  105  power outages across Northern B.C,   leaving nearly 5,000 BC Hydro customers in the dark.

There is one small outage in the Prince George area, in the Old Summit Lake Road area,  where  fewer than 5 customers are without power.

There have been a number of fires  either started by trees coming into contact with  hydro  wires,  or  wind whipping up  person caused  fires.

In Prince George,  a  number of homes  have been  evacuated   near the end of East end of  Austin Road,  where a fire in the Valleyview-Mesa  area rapidly spread   by  high  gusts of wind. ( see previous story )

There have also been  evacuations near Fort St. John,  because of a  wildfire in the  Baldonnel  area .

The Northwest  Fire Centre reports six new wildfires in that region, most near Burns Lake.  Most  have been  extinguished or are in  “patrol status”.
