Prince George, B.C.- Residents of Valleyview, at the east end of Austin Road in the Hart area of the City, are being allowed to return to their homes.
There is a condition though, they can only return on foot. Vehicles are not allowed in the area, as the roads are covered in fire hoses and fire fighting equipment.
Fire fighters will remain on scene over night to douse any hot spots and ensure the blaze does not flare up.
The fire broke out early this afternoon and was fanned by gusty winds .
The cause of the fire has not been released.

The residents of the Valleyview area have much to be thankful for tonight. No structures lost and more importantly, no lives lost!
This situation could have turned ugly, really ugly, Slave Lake ugly, Kelowna ugly, and it could have done so in an instant! With our mild winter, lack of snow, dry forest bed and warm and windy conditions, people must be more vigilant when it comes to anything and everything that could cause a fire in our forests!
Whatever the cause, if there is any good to come out of this evenings fire, its my hope that people will be more CAREFUL! You can always rebuild a building destroyed by fire, but you just can’t fix DEAD!
And the losers that view that view Hart Guys well meaning words as a negative opinion?
Has this site turned into a left wing CBC board ????
Unfortunately, I guess people choose to thumbs down any good comment, instead of actually replying with a resonable rebuttal.
Its gotten pretty sad, time to end it.
