PGDPAC Elects New President

Tuesday, May 24, 2016 @ 5:50 AM

Prince George, B.C. – There’s a new face atop the Prince George District Parent Advisory Council (PGDPAC).

Her name is Gillian Burnett and she replaces Sarah Holland, who stepped down after serving the maximum four years in the position.

Though she says she’ll miss the job, Holland says PGDPAC will be in good hands.

“She’s (Burnett) been a PAC chair at Nukko Lake, she’s been a lot of things. Gillian’s terrific and she’s going to be well supported by a terrific executive.”

Burnett was elected to the position at PGDPAC’s Annual General Meeting earlier this month. She beat out Darlene Campbell for the job (Campbell has taken on the role of secretary instead).

As for Holland, she’ll remain on the executive as treasurer and says she walks away from the presidency with one final thought in mind.

“Parents really do count. I think that’s something parents need to know, they do have a voice at the school level, at the district level, at a provincial level.”
