Prince George, B.C. – The top fundraisers for this year’s Ride Don’t Hide event for the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) were honoured this morning.

The June fundraiser drew 114 riders and raised a record $12,463. The money is used to help break the stigma surrounding mental illness and stays within the community.

The top fundraiser was Steve Leung, who raised around $1,000. He received a new bicycle from Cycle World Sports for his efforts.

“It’s something I do every year and I think it’s a great way for just raising awareness of mental health in the community.

Maureen Davis, CMHA’s executive director, was thrilled with the support the ride received.

“It was absolutely excellent. We had three times as many riders and raised three to four times as much money as last year.”

Kelly Mould (2nd) and Devon Flynn (3rd) were the other top fundraisers. They both received gift baskets courtesy the Twisted Cork Restaurant and Karma Nutritionals.
