Prince George, B.C. – The final numbers are in for the  Prince George Cougars  Alumni golf tournament   which  is a fundraiser for the Spirit of the North  Healthcare Foundation.

This year,  the event raised  just over $60 thousand dollar.  The, funds raised from the event will be put towards the purchase of Patient Monitors for cardiac related monitoring at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia.

Over the past five years, the Prince George Cougars and the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation have teamed up to raise just shy of $300,000 towards healthcare in Northern BC.

“Over the course of five years, the Prince George Cougars Alumni Hospital Charity Golf Tournament has evolved into the ‘can’t miss’ golf tournament of the summer,” said Prince George Cougars Alumni Hospital Charity Golf Tournament Chairman, Gary Samis. “The community has really rallied behind this initiative and it means so much to the alumni and the Cougars to be able to return to Prince George and give back. We want to recognize our event sponsors and all of our supporters from Prince George and the surrounding communities who continue to associate their great names with our tournament. It’s because of that generosity that we are able to make these vital contributions towards the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.”

Judy Neiser, CEO for Spirit of the North also offers a big thank you to all involved  “Sponsors, donors, players, partners, volunteers, and the Alumni have truly given generously to support greatly needed healthcare equipment for the North once again.  We treasure this partnership immensely and are so appreciative of the funds received.  Thank you!!”
