Suspicious Fire Claims Two Lives in Williams Lake
Williams Lake, B.C. – Two people are dead following a house fire in Williams Lake early this morning.
North District Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says police responded to a structure fire in the 1400 block of Broadway Ave. at around 3:20 a.m.
She says officers arrived to find the home fully engulfed in flames and observed another home nearby also on fire.
“All occupants of the first home had escaped the structure and were accounted for,” says Saunderson. “The occupants of the second home did not get out and police confirm that two people who were in the home at the time of the fire are deceased.”
She says both police and the Williams Lake Fire Department continue to investigate and “believe the fires to be suspicious.”
Fire investigators, North District Major Crime, North District General Investigators and Forensic Identification Services have been called upon to assist in the investigation.
The names and genders are not being released at this time.
