Prince George, B.C. – Three local organizations teamed up this year to help benefit local charities.

The result was a cheque presentation by MNP worth just over $1,500 to the Prince George Community Foundation (PGCF) at CN Centre today.

The accounting, tax and business firm donated $10 for every home goal the Prince George Cougars scored this year through their ‘Score for the Community’ program.

MNP’s Andrew Adams said the donation is indicative of the company’s core philosophy.

“We are a community firm, community driven. The Prince George Community Foundation shares the same values and direction that we share. Same with the Cougars. It’s a perfect combination of the three of us.”

“It’s wonderful news. And the most exciting part of this is we came together to raise these funds,” said PGCF executive director Cindy Storozinksi. “We are truly grateful to be the recipient of this worthwhile donation and to be part of this year’s exciting hockey season.”

She said all proceeds will help provide grants for community organization’s in need.

“It’s a win, win, win. MNP wins because they get exposure and they get to feel good about what they’re doing in the community,” added Cougars business VP Andy Beesley.

“The charity wins because they receive the funds and the Cougars win because our fans like the experience and it’s a way that the Cougars can facilitate giving back in a way that works for everybody.”
