Tete Jaune Cache, B.C. – A crew of firefighters is busy battling a human caused blaze 5km east of Tete Jaune Cache tonight.
According to the BC Wildfire Service, the 15-hectare blaze is zero percent contained and is listed as “out of control.”
“The wildfire is located on the south aspect, north of Highway 16 approximately 5km east of Tete Jaune Cache,” according to a statement on its website. “BC Wildfire Service has deployed 26 firefighters and two officers to the scene, with crews working to contain the fire at the base of the slope.”
Though the fire hasn’t affected traffic on Highway 16 yet, the public is advised to be cautious due to smoke in the valley and to check drivebc.ca for conditions.

So they seem to have no problem stating it is a human caused fire, but give no reason as to why they came to that conclusion, but say instead they have no further information at this time. Do the reporters here actually ask questions or do they just reprint the news bulletin as it is given to them?
I just picked this up concerning the Tete Jaune Fire
“The fire was likely caused by a tree falling into a powerline, but Reynolds said it is classified as being human-caused because it wasn’t sparked by lightning.
