Prince George, B.C. – Although firefighting crews have made progress on the wildfire 5kms east of Tete Jaune Cache, the blaze is a difficult one to battle says Fire Information Officer Erin Catherall.“The terrain is quite steep, so it is challenging” says Catherall.
The blaze covers about 574 hectares and is 80% contained. Catherall says the fire is “being held” meaning the fire is not likely to grow beyond its current size.
“We have 94 firefighters on scene and 2 helicopters, so we hope to make good progress by this weekend.”
The fire started when a tree fell on to a power line.
