Summerfest Takes to the Streets
Prince George, B.C.- While the City of Prince George enjoys the Heatwave music festival, Summerfest will keep the downtown celebrations going. The date for this year’s Summerfest is July 16th.
From 11 am to 5 pm, the grounds in front of City Hall and along George Street will be filled with music, food and activities for the whole family.
The popular Taste Pavilion returns but requires Taste Tickets if you plan to sample the delights from a number of local restaurants. To avoid line ups, Taste Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Canadian Western Bank on Victoria Street, or Tourism Prince George. Tickets are also available at the event itself.
A mainstage will be set up where a variety of musical talent will provide entertainment, including a sneak peek of the musical Anne of Green Gables being produced by Judy Russell.
On City Hall grounds, an exhibitor’s alley where artists will have items for sale, and information booths will be set up.
The butterfly greenhouse returns, where monarch butterflies can be released. Also returning is the misting station where everyone can cool off. New for the little ones is a dinosaur dig, plus entertainment from Dr. Von Houligan’s Carnival of Calamities.
