Evacuation Alerts Lifted for 100 Mile House Area
Prince George, B.C. – Evacuation alerts for several communities in the South Cariboo have been lifted by the Cariboo Regional District.
Evacuation alerts have been rescinded for the following areas:
-Forest Grove and 100 Mile Fringe North
-100 Mile Southwest Davis Road area
-southeast Canim Lake, South Mahood Lake, Electoral Area L and part of Electoral Area G
-north end of Lac La Hache to 100 Mile House Boundary
-northwest of 100 Mile House
-the District of 100 Mile House
an overview map is available at http://bit.ly/2vTi3Nm.
The CRD advises that air quality in the above areas remains poor and that evacuation alerts or orders may have to be re-issued if wildfire activity continues. Some areas within the CRD remain on evacuation alert or order and because of that residents of the above noted areas are cautioned that they must be prepared to leave on short notice should an evacuation order be issued.
