Ten Mile Lake Provincial Park Reopening

Wednesday, August 2, 2017 @ 7:00 AM

Quesnel, B.C. – Good news for outdoor enthusiasts.

Effective 8 a.m. today, Ten Mile Lake Provincial Park north of Quesnel will once again be opened for public use.

Access to the park has been restricted by BC Parks since July 11 due to increased wildfire activity in the area.

(Though BC Parks says fire activity no longer poses a threat in the area.)

Despite the opening, the BC Wildfire Service reminds the public that open burning prohibitions (including a campfire ban) are currently in effect throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre.

The public is also reminded to remain vigilant and be extremely careful with any recreational activity that could potentially spark a wildfire.

To report a wildfire or open burning violation call 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 on a cellphone.
