City Assesses Rolling Mix Arena Following Crash
Prince George, B.C. – City of Prince George is already making repairs to the Rolling Mix Arena on Patricia Boulevard, following an early morning incident.
Around 1:00 this morning, a pick up truck slammed into the Patricia Boulevard side of the arena.
“We had a structural engineer attend the site this morning” says Rob Whitwham, General Manager of Community Services for the City of Prince George “He has concluded there had been no damage to the structural integrity of the arena, so we already have contractors on site making repairs.”
The arena is home to the Spruce Kings of the BCHL and the team is scheduled to have an exhibition game this Saturday evening as they welcome the Grande Prairie Storm.
“There will be no impact to the Spruce Kings plans” says Whitwham.
The driver of the pickup fled the scene following the crash. Police later located a male believed to be the driver. According to police the suspect gave two breath samples which were both two times higher than the legal limit for alcohol.
