Prince George, B.C. - The City of Prince George Bylaw Officers are continuing to follow up on the garbage that was dumped on Tyner Blvd property last week (See Looking For Owner Of This Garbage).

Part of the investigation has revealed the garbage is on Catholic Church private property which makes the job more difficult because they cannot enter onto the property without permission.
Randy Rae with Bylaw Services says the Catholic Church will be sent a letter stating they need to remove the garbage and the City will take reasonable steps to find the person who dumped the garbage, “There was a statement with a name on it, but this happens a bazillion times per year. We manage to trace the garbage back to someone and they say they paid someone else $20.00 to take it to the transfer station. Of course it is always ‘some guy’ so we cannot follow up on it.”
Bylaw Officers continue to find garbage dumping on private property and around the city, especially places such as the cut banks. Due to limited resources, the City finds it impossible to keep up with the litter.
