Houston B.C. -The organizers of the first annual Ian Bush Memorial golf tournament held in Houston on Saturday say they were very pleased with the results.

A total of 41 golfers took part in the one day event which they say will now become an annual event. The proceeds from the Ian Bush Memorial are being turned over to the Heart and Stroke foundation.

The community also holds an annual Ian Bush Memorial fast ball tournament every year in May.

Lynda Bush, mother of Ian Bush who was shot to death at the police station in Houston by an RCMP officer in October of 2005, says the community hasn’t forgotten her son Ian "That brings to the family a great source of pride."

RIP Ian, you will never be forgotten.
Niether will what sent you to where you are now.
RCMP gonna be invited to play?
I just wanted to say that on behalf of everyone from Ians ball team that i am happy for the success of the golf tourny. A corection on the ball tourny...it is a mixed slow pitch tourny. I hope no one forgets him because i know he is and always will be a part of our team. RIP Ian cause i know who is responsible probably isn't.
Maybe people will realize that when you attempt to kill a police officer bad things will happen. Good to see the proceeds go to a worthy cause.
Its funny how people that know nothing of the situation have a lot of knowledge of what happened. What this officer did was wrong, what the whole detachment did was wrong. Funny there was no camera in the room to prove what happened. I bet if there was your mind would change
