Wow we sort of get your point but please just say no to drugs.

"...in Comics by Editorial Cartoon..."
I don't see anything comical or funny in this so-called cartoon.
It's a humourless trivialization of a very old problem that has never been solved by any successive federal and provincial governments, imho.
Mr. Campbell's predecessors also failed to deal with it adequately - all of them.
This homelessness problem is OUR problem as a society and we have never solved it, no matter 2010 Olympics or whatever or wherever.
It is not a joking matter.

Everything can be a joking matter if it doesn't affect you personally.

It is a sad commentary on our society.

I turned off the Witness comment about eight lines down, too many tasteless adjectives.

It's a good thing Campbell has plans for the homeless, because I am pretty sure the homeless have plans for him!
And they are not the only ones!
And you are right diplomat,it is NOT a joking matter, but human nature is such that humour helps to take some of the stress out of a given situation.
It's harmless for the most part.
And the more Campbell is ridiculed, the more likely he is to actually DO something about it.
Oh wait..(smack forehead)..what am I thinking...this IS Gordon Campbell and he will do NOTHING!

If you heard his news cast on how he was going to house the homeless by 2010 you would see the humour in the cartoon. I agree that there is a big problem with more and more homeless people and I for one care but I am not going to stop laughing because of it.

Political cartoons are not necessarily meant to be funny. They are political commentary in cartoon form, no different from a written article. They just make their point visually is all. I thought it did that very well, as many of his cartoons do.

Just because it is a cartoon, does not mean it is a joke or the homeless problem is a joke. Many meaningful editorial statements have been made by editorial page cartoonists. This is just another example. This shows Campbell's inept way he has dealt with this problem. He was asked about it at a news conference in China where he attending the Olympics and he said they would be assisted. He also said the land slide on the Sea to Sky Highway was a once in 200 year event even though there have been several slides in the past 50 years. He has no plan for the homeless nor the slides nor the environment. He is just stringing us along. His performance at the news conference shows why he doesn't have them in BC anymore and why he doesn't let his MLA's be interviewed. They just give press releases, have a picture taken and leave.

I think the comment by the author named witness might be a call for help or something. That person obviously has serious mental health issues that need to be dealt with and should seek help before they take the anger out on someone innocent like the person they claim to be defending. That comment was not in good taste IMO and lacked any virtue that would convince a person to be persuaded to the argument. IMO it did a disservice to the Dziekanski cause.
As for the cartoon I think it illustrates a great point. Only thing is it should have had a made in China sticker on the cardboard box and a $500,000 price tag on it.

Sadly, our three B.C. Lieberal M.L.A.'s thought this was a photograph, instead of a cartoon. Each expressed their own anger to Gordon for not being included in the photo-op. Thanks to all, who posted here as it has served to diffuse their anger when they realized it was in fact a editorial cartoon and not Gordo's actual plan. I guess for them it would have been plausible, but it turned out to be an honest mistake on their part. Thanks Opinion250 for once again being here to educate those who need to have reality pointed out for them yet again.

Gordie and the gang can take some tips from the chinese government in Beijing, one of which might be to buy a train load of whitewash. Maybe he can lip synch our national anthem too.
