Prince George, B.C. – Prince George just might medal in the August Rain Olympics.

Gabor Fricska, Environment Canada says we may very well get the bronze medal as we are currently sitting at approximately 112.1mm with today’s rain, “We have two days left still in the month, if it keeps up we could be close to the third place title spot which is 128.0mm set in 1964.”

This is now the 5th wettest August on record.  The August record was set in 1948 with 147.3mm.  All top four records are held before 1964.

Although the weather is supposed to let up a bit, we are not out of the woods yet as more showers and possible thunder is expected for the weekend.

Sunday and Monday could reach highs in the mid teens, with a low of 2 degrees which could mark the first frost spotting.

Perhaps Mother Nature is trying to keep Prince George green a little longer before the snow hits as September can also be expected to start off with rain.

"Perhaps Mother Nature is trying to keep Prince George green" I thought the gas tax grab was supposed to do that.
No it's the carbon tax. Going to go broke heating the home this year.
