Prince George, B.C. - It's another reminder for people not to leave valuables inside their vehicles, even if it's out of sight.

RCMP in Prince George are investigating three thefts from vehicles in the parking lots of the Carmel Motor Inn and the Four Points by Sheraton in Prince George.

Constable Jayson Hansen says people should never leave anything they don't want stolen.

"The best thing is that if you're staying at a hotel or any accomodation is to bring those valuables inside with you where it's usually easier for you to keep an eye on them, or use safes if they're available."

Hansen says though they don't have suspects or know where the items are, he says police can still track them down if serial numbers are written down, or items are engraved with driver's license numbers.

The thefts occured early Friday morning where items like a laptop and GPS system were stolen.

Police are asking for anyone who may have seen anything to phone the Prince George RCMP detachment at (250) 561-3300 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

They must have been out of towners who didnt realise the PG is so crime ridden.
Sure sure, bring it into your hotel room, where the hotel has signs up, saying don't leave anything of any value in your room. Come down to the front desk where they will lock up a small item for you.

We need to deal with these repeat criminals, and not in the way we are doing at present.

Once we get the new POLICE station up and running it will make our crime fighting system sooooooooooo much better in PG.
The scumbags will turn themselves in just for a tour of the place.
I think I share the distaste of most people that such a grand building is planned, and now additional floor being added to the design, that wasn't in the original discussion. The location is entirely wrong as well. Taking up prime downtown retail space. Should have gone to the old wood weaton chev dealership location. I used to live about two blocks away from that corner, and it is easily one of the busiest places that require cops every night to attend to.

This is just another prime example of how this city management is so out of touch with reality.
Welcome to Prince George where the seasoned thieves have taken over our city. NOTHING happens to them even if caught.
Further to the bit about bringing all your valuables into the room with you; It gets very tiresome having to pack a bunch of stuff in and out every day, but that is the price we pay for freedom. That sounds strange, but consider this; the low down scumbag thief (addict probably) is free to walk the streets and make honest peoples' lives miserable, we are free to continue to pay taxes and to go out and buy more stuff, or pay the insurance company to do it for you. I am with you lunarguy, something needs to be done, our justice system is, at best, a bad joke.
