Valemount, B.C. - The pilot of a plane that went down into the east end of Moose Lake in Mount Robson Provincial Park over a month ago has now been recovered and so has the wreckage of the ultralight.

"E" Division spokesperson Constable Annie Linteau says the aircraft and the body of 57-year-old Paul MacKay from Hinton, Alberta was found August 23rd but was only taken out of the water over the past 3 days.

An extensive search and rescue mission began August 4th when RCMP in Valemount were advised an ultralight plane with one person inside the aircraft was seen spiraling into Moose Lake.

Despite the efforts of the Jasper National Parks Warden Service and the RCMP Dive deam, it took the help of a Lower Mainland commercial diving company to find where the plane had gone down.

The investigation is still underway by BC Coroner Services.
