Prince George, B.C. The woman who died in yesterday's tragic crash on Highway 16 west was a worker at the Child Development Centre in Prince George.  The Centre issued a  special statement just moments ago:

"Staff and Management at the Child Development Centre are saddened at the news on the loss of their colleague, Anu Tirrul-Jones, who was tragically taken from us in a car accident on Tuesday.

Over the last seven years, Anu dedicated her life to working with the region’s children and families as an employee of the Child Development Centre. She loved her work and prided herself on doing it well. She enjoyed her outreach visits to families in the northern community regions of the Robson Valley, Vanderhoof, Fort Fraser, Fraser Lake and Fort St. James.

The hearts and prayers of the staff of the Child Development Centre are with Anu’s family. We will miss her wit, her compassion, her professional skills and above all, her friendship. We also wish a speedy recovery for the four people that were injured in the collision as they deal with this tragedy."

The RCMP say alcohol  and speed were not factors in this tragedy.  Anu Tirrul-Jones car is being examined to see if there was any mechanical fault that  contributed to the crash.
