Prince George, B.C.- Students at the University of Northern British Columbia beat their Shinerama target of $15,000 on Saturday, raising over $15,500.
Students were located throughout the community shining shoes, washing cars and collecting bottles to help raise money.
Shinerama is Canada’s largest post-secondary school fundraiser, involving student volunteers from more than 65 universities and colleges. The campaign, which began in 1964, has raised almost $17.5 million to help fund CF research and treatment programs.
“I’m so proud of the Prince George community for helping us reach our goal,” said UNBC Northern Undergraduate Student Society (NUGSS) President and Shinerama Chairman, Cameron Ehl. “Without the support of the community, we would not have been as successful as we were. I’m also very proud of the students who donated their time on Saturday to help raise money for this great cause.”
