That is really too bad. I got my start at the East Fraser plant in Mackenzie. They were a good bunch to work for. I wonder if this is a permanent thing or will they open once the market turns around again?
What will make the market turn around???

Even if the market "turns around" it will be very dificult to find money to fund a reopening.

I do not expect any plant of any kind to reopen within at least 5 yrs ---- and that may be just an optimistic guess. Where will the employees be then? It is going to be a long time before there is trust in the viability of small resource towns.

Too bad to see this sea change
Means that the trees (non pines) to grow a little more.
For these folks, it's all about wood supply. I've heard that the hope is back to work within 13 weeks. But it all depends on everone else in the wood business in Mackenzie.
