Preparations Underway for Northern Lights Festival

The display on  Connaught Hill will be open  

 

Sunday to Wednesday - 5PM to 9PM ~ Thursday to Saturday - 5PM to 10PM

 

 

Prince Geoerge, B.C.- The preparations are underway for the Northern Lights Festival. 

To be held from  November 28th to January 2nd,  this second annual  Festival  has added some  features:

New this year:

• North Pole mailbox where kids can mail letters to Santa

 

• Seniors Night hosted by the Ramada Hotel

 

• Downtown Poinsettia Parade

 

• Voters’ Choice for Best Decorated Downtown Merchant

 

• Expanded displays on Connaught Hill

The City of Prince George, Initiatives Prince George and Downtown Prince George are working together on the project which last year attracted almost 6,000 vehicles, carrying 23,000 passengers.

"The organizing committee has been busy working to create a variety of fun, family activities that will complement the many holiday events already taking place in our city," said Jill Moore, Downtown Prince George Executive Director and chair of the organizing committee. "In particular, we want to thank our sponsors who see this event as a celebration of our community and a great step toward turning our downtown into an inviting, exciting place to bring the family."

Lets hope this time they get the electrical permit first, before announcing the grand opening, only to discover they are not allowed to do major amounts of wiring without an electrical permit.

It was a great display in the long run, but like most people I think we questioned the dinosaur portion.
How much will this CHRISTMAS display cost us this year. Why would anyone pay to see Christmas lights when Candy Cane Lane does it for nothing and is better?
