Prince George, B.C.- Although he took a lot of criticism for his hip hop routine, 19 year old Prince George dancer, Izaak Smith has made it through to another round of So You Think You Can Dance Canada.

His former partner, Kaitlyn Fitzgerald was not so lucky. She was voted off the program.

Now in the top eight, Izaak lives another day, and while the judges have been harsh on him telling him he needs to bring his “A” game to the competition, it is the voting of the pubic that kept Izaak out of danger.

The top ten will be embarking on a 15 city tour in the new year. There will be two B.C. stops, Vancouver on January 30th and Kelowna on the 31st.
The tour will also hit Edmonton February 2nd, and Calgary on February 5th.

Tickets for the national tour go on sale the weekend of November 21st, 2008. Full details regarding on-sale dates and ticket purchasing are coming soon to dance.ctv.ca.

Atta a girl izak, she is a girl right? I never watch the show.
The first sentence reads - Although he took a lot of criticism for his hip hop routine -------

Did someone drop an s in she?
Hey he is a good kid & it is nice to see that he is doing good
Ya, god luck, nice to hear anytime anyone is successful. Isn't this a problem though if he doesn't have a dance partner anymore?
I think it's great. Way to go Izaak!
dancing is for xtc junkies and btw techno viking owns izaak
Good for this kid but these shows are the worst garbage imaginable. (Actually, in this case, a lame-ass Canadian version of the worst garbage imaginable)
Death to Socialism - what a negative comment. The kids are great and they are doing something they love. You have no idea, so don't comment at all. It is a opening challenge for them to pursue a career.

With that comment I would like to add: The judges are correct in their comments for Izaak he is not good enough to be in the top 10 - I think it is time for him to go. But at least we got him to the top 10, so he can tour, gain experience and grow. I think he knows that he is not good enough, Yet! so by keeping him in I think it will hurt him in the short term.
A kid with that much skill & talent would have a career with or without this type of insipid dreck. Maybe I should have been more clear that I am sincerely happy for his success but I just don't care for all these American Idol spinoffs.
If anybody is looking for work, Tim Hortons should be hiring soon. After this show and a year long cross country tour to showcase his talent I suspect Izaak wont be coming back to pour coffee ;-)
