Prince George, B.C. -  Don’t be surprised to find some interruptions in your SHAW service from midnight tonight to 8:00 tomorrow morning.
Shaw is performing some maintenance work in the area. Shaw says the interruptions will be as brief as possible and technicians will be working to minimize the service outage.
If there are technical issues which go beyond the scheduled time, you are encouraged to contact their technical support team at:

The shaw system has been a major reason why home users of the University's computer systems have had problems for the past several months. Hopefully this will solve the issues.
Go Telus!

Cheers
I have had experience with both Shaw and Telus. Shaw has telus beat hands down and they don't have an attitude like Telus.
Well said Oldun, that's been my experience as well, to the point of my house being a "Telus Free Zone"

Oldun, northerjoe; right on!
I had bad experience with Telus, so my
household is Telus free.

Cute...no internet but you are to contact them on the internet...that takes some brains to announce that....
What are "Interuptions"? Seriously, there are numerous programs and plug ins and add ons that will check your spelling for you.

As for the article, I've had both Telus and Shaw and I'm on the fence as to which one's better. I've had better customer service from Shaw but that was many years ago so it may not be relevant.

PS. I'm getting tired of having to create a new account every time I try to comment. Any chance there is someone with a back bone who can send me an email detailing their beef?
My brother told me never to phone Telus. I wonder why?
I don't mind Shaw, but I've had a lot of interruptions with them and I've never received a discount on my bill.
BC Racer: you took the words right out of my mouth! I've always had GREAT service with SHAW....but that was SO incredibly dumb!
just got shaw cable interupted. Decided to read this article since no cable is on...
I’ve been on hold for two days with Telus. I’ve been told that my call is important to them 58 times and the call will be answered quicker than if I hang up and call again. When I finally get to talk to someone I get to pick the language I want service in, now that’s worth waiting for…………….does Shaw offer this?
Shaw has always been good to me. Their customer service is first rate. If they can't fix it over the phone, they come to my house and all for free. When I moved they were here that day to hook up my cable and internet and all for free. Telus charges for house calls to hook up their internet. When Shaw phone comes to PG, I will be switching. I already have my long distance with a 3rd party because of hassles I've had with Telus.
9 years with Shaw internet service, no problems ever.

If you would like to talk Shaw television service, may I suggest you pour yourself a drink and cozy up next to the fire.

Bell Expressview baby!
It's funny how one bad experience can sour some people on a company forever. I've had Shaw cable and Telus phone and internet for as long as I can remember with very few problems. If I had any problems, they were handled well by both companies.

Some people expect things to be instantly fixed and have someone on the phone in 10 seconds when there an issue and that's just not realistic IMO. If you have that attitude going in you'll be fine.

I've got to call BS on a lot of people here that claim to have Shaw internet with no problems ever. Just a few months ago service was disconnected for a few days due to someone tampering with their cables. Of course this wasn't Shaw's fault but it was still a problem.
I have had Telus phone and internet for many years now and when I have had a problem they have always been willing to fix it for me or guide me through it to fix myself. IMO, it all depends on how you talk to them when you finally get them on the phone. If you have a bad attatude right off the bat then your going to get a customer service rep who isn't that willing to give you the best service.

Of course because you call BS that makes others claims of never any problems a pack of lies?

We bow to thee ole mighty one.
We have had both telus and Shaw internet .
Shaw has out done Telus and we are waiting for Shaw's telephone service to start in Jan 2009. Once Shaw has the service running WE WILL BE TELUS FREE.
I must say dealing with Telus was not easy, and we will never use them again!
I have had both as well...
Telus internet seems to have less problems, I can't get my email on a regular basis but the internet seems more reliable, and cost is a little less aas well, but try and get customer service...there I will give it to Shaw. Gettting a person on the phone is much easier with Shaw.
So both have good and both have bad. So now if Shaw can get a reliable connection, and work out the cable telephone system bugs, not internet ~ no phone, no power ~no phone, they just might get my business...
