Prince George, B.C. - ICBC, the RCMP and community partners have officially launched Operation Red Nose, and are reminding people that drinking and driving is a criminal offence. Police will be out in force to apprehend anyone who has been drinking and decided to get behind the wheel of a vehicle.
Operation Red Nose reminds you there are options, you can:

·        Call a cab
·        Take  transit
·        An operation Rednose driver
Police say the alternatives are:
·        An ambulance,
·        A police car
·        A hearse.
RCMP Inspector Eric Brewer says  alcohol is a factor in 40% of all fatalities.  The  CounterAttack  program is on  now until  January 5th with random road checks  throughout the region.
