Prince George, B.C.- The snowfall warning remains in effect and the amount of snow received so far depends on where you live.
On the Hart in the north end of the city, there has been 12 “or 30.479 centimetres of snow and it’s still coming.
Crews continue to work on clearing the streets and estimate they will be on the job all night tonight and through the weekend.
( at right,  equipment operator lifts the blade )
The snow will continue, at times heavy and at times mixed with ice pellets through to tomorrow.
Below,  "nothing runs like a Deer".....except when the snow is nearly up over its wheels in Beaverly!

maybe the city should get out and plow the roads so we can actually drive around..bunch of idiots this is why i voted for fetterly
A friend says she is going to Tabor tomorrow.
Their website says nothing about opening.
30.479, nope looks more like 30 even
"FrankRizzo"

Maybe the City should, when it quits snowing! Then you can drive around, and waste fuel.

You really don't know a lot about snow removal, do you??? You know very little about going green! And your political views, well that is your right! But how they spend my tax dollars on snow removal, is my business! I think, that is one area that the City of PG does a more than adequate job. Can't please everybody! Sorry for your luck, but your street doesn't always get plowed first.

Sometimes, it is better to be quiet, and let people think that you don't have a clue, than to open up your mouth, and remove all doubt!!

FrankRizzo Yakes one idiot to know one. Congratulations to the City on a great job as usual.
Perhaps you could apply for a job and learn something about conditions and budgets in the North.
Ok, answer me this....

Why not plow 5th & 15th from Foothills to downtown and keep them clear. Why not plow Central from 5th to the Fraser Bridge? Why not plow Ospika from 5th to the top of the hill where it ends? These are main downtown area arteries, right?

Why is Victoria plowed from the top of the hill near the hwy down around Diefenbaker. Why is Upland plowed on the south side of the hwy to Ferry Ave?

Not a criticism, just a question?
central street (the bypass) is looked after by YRB, as is hwy 16 west, from the Petrocan on 20th Ave. And yes, YRB was out, as I was, driving my taxi!

Snow removal crews, keep up the great job!
30-40-50 cm's,inches; nothing compared to the snowjobs we are getting from all level of gov. these days!
I'm not sure where you people have seen the plows. I was out all day yesterday and only saw one plow truck and it wasn't doing anything. It has nothing to do with going green. That is hogwash. Instead of clearing some of the main roads, we who were driving around were burning fuel at a tremendous rate. I live on a transit route, usually a priority, and it still hasn't been touched! I hope those who have the contract to clear our roads don't get paid. This is crap.
If you think the city is doing a good job plowing the roads, ask the guy who lost his muffler at 5th and spruceland (looked new)and ask the owners of two other vehicles how they feel about loosing their hubcaps on the same road. Some one needs to be replaced in the streets division....this is totally unacceptable !!!

I have lost many hubcaps on city streets, when there is NO SNOW! It is called very bad, pothole infested streets. Snow and Ice fills them in. Be patient, as soon as the snow removal crews finish their job, the streets will be smooth, until spring, when we thaw out, and our streets take more hubcaps.

I think that the guy that lost his muffler at 5th and Spruceland?? ( where is that exactly lol) should go back to his muffler shop/supplier for warranty. My GOD, how pathetic Viagara, have you nothing else to do with your time!!
The city is doing a great job. Try living in a major city, like Regina, that doesn't plow the subdivisions, not even the bus routes, only the main roads and they get just as much, if not more snow than we do. This is more than an unusual amount of snow we've had in the last day. And hwy 16 & hwy 97 (the bypass) are the province's responsibility, not the city's. I've lived in many cities and Prince George has the best snow removal. Great job city workers!
Where is the graduated cylinder picture of how much rain we got today? ;)
Saturday afternoon about 4:30 PM. Massey wasn't plowed. Big puddle forming on it. Westwood not plowed. Downtown 3rd and 4th Ave. Not plowed. Nor Brunswick. Other than those roads I guess the rest of the city is OK.
Why are the downtown streets not cleared first? Not a good way to promote the downtown.
Thats Niagara not Viagara FI, and I wanted to say 5th "at" Sprucland. Most small cars were dragging bottom on these roads and I don't think that should be a
consideration when having a muffler installed. Oh,by the way, please install extra clamps because winter is coming and I will be driving around on city streets scraping bottom. The problem with most of the people who claim the city is doing a GREAT job is that your
brain washed. For examample,I remember when Harold Moffat was mayor and he used to say that if he could drive in his cow pasture after a heavy snow then we have nothing to complain about.
Went downtown this morning. Slush, 4-6" deep snow have to follow tire tracks to get around...
put a call in..was told the crews are behind..ok fair enough...
2pm saw equipment working by A&W....
5pm walked to A&W for dinner...none of streets done (and pedestrian sign pushed over)

now 10:30pm...it is going to freeze tonight..where are the crews?
Environment Canada calling for more snow...people with cars can't get around and following tire tracks when your bottoming out risks puncturing gas tanks..

was patient..now getting frustrated...
" Niagara" I apologize, it was a "typo" as I want to believe, that all the comments on here, about bad snow removal, are also "TYPO'S"

I have read your posts, with much interest. I have notice however, that you are talking about someone else's muffler, not your own. You talk about hubcaps on the side of the road, that aren't yours. Your whole post, is about other people's experiences, that you know nothing about.

How about a post about you experiences, at a desk, on a computer??? Whatayahsay???

In the mean time, I think a small dose of "Viagara" (Viagra), would be good for you. You may finally find something to talk about, that has happened to you personally , that you have witnessed first hand!!

Let us know how you made out!! A full report would be in order I think, as you seem to report on other peoples experiences all the time!
Get serious Tax; my experiences are my observations. Why would small doses of Viagara be good for me?? You sound like a 12 year old!
My street is done...finally..guess I should not complain about the boulder size snow ball left in my drive?!

It should not take 2.5 days to clear this city. That is a lot of fuel, maintenance and wage expense!

I will help development services create a better more efficient clearing plan. Obviously, something is wrong. IMO, the city should have been cleared by Friday night.

I think the city/YRB/Province should post very clear plowing plans for different snow fall senarios. A schedule should also be posted/announced in real time to give residents "best route" options and also so you know when you're own street will be done with at least a day's notice.

I've never been a part of developing a city plowing plan so I'm sure there are a lot of challenges and cost restrictions that I'm unaware of, however, simply based on my own observations, I believe that snow removal could be improved in PG.
I give up, you whiners are hopeless. No amount of explaining will ever give you any common sense!!

Head for the sun everyone, and plow sand!!!
Snow stopped Friday afternoon... Sunday afternoon third ave still not plowed and 8" + of half frozen slush in all the parking spots in front of the Northern. At some point complaining about complete lack of maintenance is no longer "whining".
