This is the second, and final opportunity for residents to cast a ballot if they are not able to do so on the actual election day.
As was the case last week, the advance poll at City Hall (second floor conference room) will be open from 8 this morning, till 8 tonight. But this time, there is one less name to consider.
Although the name "Nathan Paul Prince" is on the ballot, voters are advised NOT to vote for him for Mayor. Prince withdrew from the race yesterday, too late to get approval from the Ministry of Community services, too late to have his name taken off the ballot.
Last week, some 305 voters took advantage of the first advance poll.
During the last election, a total of 637 ballots were cast in the two advance polls.
You are eligible to advance vote if you're unable to vote on the General Voting Day ( November 19th) because:
-You expect to be absent from the City of Prince George;
-You will be unable to vote on General Voting Day for reasons of conscience;
-You will not be able to attend a voting place on General Voting Day for reasons beyond your control;
-You have a physical disability or are a person whose mobility is impaired;
-You are a candidate or candidate representative; or
-You are an election official.
It will be interesting to see if the large number of candidates and varying issues will draw more to the advance polls this time round and if that will give any indication as to what can be expected when the full day of voting rolls around on Saturday.
