I raced in the BCSVA circuit back in the 70's and it was a miracle that nobody was killed. I recall being clocked on radar in Pr. Geo. at the horse race track at 90 mph. That was back in 1974/1975. We also raced in Revelstoke, Clearwater and 100 Mile, and sometimes, had an opportunity to race against the Factory Racing Teams from the US like Team Arctic Cat, Team Skidoo and the Thunderjet Racing team. Machines and speed are a dangerous mixture, and you are so vulnerable when exposed to contact with pretty much everything if you were to leave the machine.
I raced BCSVA as well back in the early 70's. We raced around on the old PGARA track downtown, MacKenzie, Vanderhoof, Clearwater, HMH. Cross country races in 1971 300 mile RCMP 100 year anniversary and a couple more after that. It was a gruelling ride riding a 1970 340 boogey wheeled Scorpion. Wouldn't mind doing it again on the sleds today. They even have a suspension.

Sad news at any rate.
