Prince George, B.C. – The number of building permits issued in Prince George in December was up in both numbers and values over the same month a year ago.

The news not quite as positive when you make a year over year comparison.

Year to date permits in 2008 had 710 permits, worth $115,495,697.30.  In 2007, the full year produced 773 permits worth $153,958,865.87

The significant permits issued last month include $300 thousand dollars worth of interior renovations to the Four Points Hotel.

The value of construction last year was more in line with values registered in 2005 and 2006 while single family residential construction numbers were in the same ranges witnessed in 2002 and 2003.
