Vancouver, B.C. - Angelique Merasty Levac of Prince George is one of two recipients of the inaugural BC Aboriginal Business Award for Individual Achievement.  The award recognizes outstanding accomplishments in the Aboriginal business community.

Levac opened Angelique's Native Arts to retail her work in birch bark biting and has expanded to offer a wide variety of native crafts made locally and across the country.

Both Levac and Dorothy Grant of Vancouver will be honoured tonight at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver in conjunction with the presentation of the inaugural BC Aboriginal Business Awards.

Good news. Nice to see that a PG person is being recognized in a provincial award. It would be nice to see other businesses like hers populate George Street.
Birch bark biting ????
well done angelique.
Hey HD Re: Birch bark biting ????

Birch bark biting is a dying native artform that is incredible. You should go to Angeliques store (across from the Ramada) and see what she can do with her teeth on bark. It's very beautiful.
Congratualations Angelique, nice to see a local business and wonderful artist recognized. Well deserved!
When will we see an Metis bus. award?
Angelique is recognized by the online Canadian Encyclopedia as being instrumental in bringing the art out into the realm of "fine art".
