Prince George, B.C. - Two enhancements have been approved by Prince George City Council in its budget discussions and both have to do with air quality. (at right,  P.G. during an air quality advisory last fall)
The first is a two part addition to the budget. Seven thousand dollars was approved to bring the air quality implementation plan up to its planned 70 thousand dollar budget. A further $5 thousand was approved for a one time expenditure for an enhanced public consultation with residents as staff prepare amendments to the Clean Air bylaw.
The second enhancement approved by Council is for $20 thousand dollars. This enhancement has to do with reducing greenhouse gas emissions among small and medium businesses.  Education programs around the cost   of retrofits and cost savings will be developed to raise awareness and spur businesses toward energy conservation.

Together, the two enhancements will add about .05% to the budget.
