Region Loses Another Builder
By Ben Meisner
It is fair to say that while I didn’t know him personally, I certainly did know about him, and was saddened to hear this past week that Ted Doyle had passed away.
His death adds to the list of those who I consider to have been builders in this community, who have died over the past year.
"Doyle" as he was known to other truckers, was the owner and operator of Ted Doyle trucking and those red and white trucks had been a fixture around these parts for many years.
It is hard to describe people like Ted Doyle; they were the kind that made deals on the back of a match book cover. Their word was their bond.
Will we get some more trail blazers like Doyle along the way? I do hope so, because without them Prince George, and the region as a whole, will not grow.
Ted Doyle represented that small town prairie farmer attitude, you get a day’s pay for a day’s work and he always showed it with his determination.
We all should be sorry to see Ted Doyle gone; He will be missed as an important player in the development of this community.
I'm Meisner, and that's one man's opinion.
