Have you seen this young woman?

Another woman has gone missing on Highway 16,  the road they call the  Highway of Tears.

A media conference was held today in Terrace in an attempt to trace the last known steps of a 22 year old Terrace woman who went missing on Highway 16 near the Industrial Park in Prince Rupert on September 21st of this year.

Police, along with family members, held a briefing with the media in an attempt to get the public involved in the search for the missing woman.

Tamara Chipman, 22 was last seen hitch hiking along Highway 16 at 4:30 on September 21st.  She has not been seen or heard from since.

Tamara is described as 5'10" tall, weighing 130 pounds. The mother of two was known to wear blonde, red, and brunette wigs and so this picture may not be an exact likeness.   Staff Sergeant Eric Stubbs who is heading the investigation says  “We gathered the family and our investigators together so that we may be able to piece together some information on who might have seen this young woman before, near or after that date."

Tamara Chipman often wore  blonde or  short wigs, so these pictures  offer an alternative "look" for the missing woman

So far , after 9 weeks, she has not tried to contact her family or friends and police are treating her disappearance as suspicious.

If you have any information  you are asked to contact RCMP Crime Stoppers at 637-8477, or your nearest detachment of the RCMP and pass along any information you might have as a possible lead.

Staff Sergeant Stubbs says "We are trying to piece together any lead as to when she left the area or where she might have been seen afterwards."

Check the long distance haulers who have travelled that highway for 15 years. Maybe even a driver that only travels Rupert to P G. and back.
Anybody would get into a truckers rig, and feel a measure of safety.
Think about it!
No harm in checking employee lists with companies.
Could be the answer.
