Ryan Yorston will not be filing an application for a recount.
The rookie candidate for Prince George City Council, missed out on winning a seat by just 46 votes.
Having considered all options, including the likelihood of a vote change, he has decided not to proceed with a recount application to the Courts. Ryan would like to THANK all of his supporters and looks forward to their continued support for RY-2008.
“It was a tremendous campaign that will serve Prince George well, in that it brought so many issues to light,” said Yorston, who will indeed run for a seat on council in three years’ time - RY08!
Yorston believes the record voter turnout indicates the people of Prince George are focused on finding resolutions to many issues. Yorston says he will be back " Along with other proud residents of Prince George, I will be watching with keen interest the workings of this new city council for the next three years, and I trust the direction the mayor and council will take this city is the proper way for both the short and long term. I wish them wisdom, cohesiveness, and good judgment.”

Maybe its the system. Maybe candidates should recieve some government funding if the vote is decided by less then 1% for the losing candidate?
50 votes would not be hard to engineer considering you could drive a bus through the loop holes in our vote casting and counting system.
