70 Mile House Fire

Opinion250 reader, on the way home from Osoyoos,  submitted this photo of smoke  from  fire at 70 Mile House.

Prince George, B.C.- Provincial emergency response efforts including local fire fighting resources from 5 local volunteer fire departments along with crews with the Ministry of Forests BC Wildfire Management Branch continue to work on the 70 Mile House Urban Interface fire in 70 Mile House.

 Crews from the following volunteers fire services have taken part in this incident:

  • 70 Mile House 
  • 100 Mile House
  • North Green Watch Lake
  • South Green Lake
  • Clinton     

Update reports from early this morning are that crews are optimistic with the outcome of the fire conditions and response efforts to date.  Loss of property has been confirmed to date at 4 structures being lost to fire in the 70 Mile House subdivision area. 

There have been no injuries.
