McBride, B.C.- It will be about 2:00 this afternoon before electricity has been restored to more than five thousand customers from Dome Creek to Valemount on highway 16 and south along highway 5 to Barriere.
B.C. Hydro says the electricity was cut about 1:30 this morning.
B.C. Hydro's Bob Gammer says it was a pole fire "An insulator failed, sometimes there can be a hairline crack in an insulator, allowing moisture to get in, and that gives electricity a path to the pole where the pole heats up and eventually starts on fire."
