Prince George, B.C.- The College of New Caledonia's third annual Global Gourmet fundraising Gala raised a record amount of money.

CNC Communications Manager Randall Heidt says the event raised $20, 000 for students at the College.

“We are so grateful to the generous donors in this great city, who continue to give so generously to the college.  We are thrilled with the turnout and the amount of money raised."

“The best thing about this fundraiser is the donors actually bought equipment for our students, such as IV units, a wheelchair, a hospital bed and much more that will go right into the classroom.”

The event raised $9,132 for nursing; $3,600 for medical laboratory tech; $1,432 for the dental program, and $1,257 for culinary arts.

More than 330 people attended the sold-out event, which featured cuisine from eight countries prepared by the college’s culinary arts students.
