Arcand Leaving Trucksafe

Prince George, B.C.-  MaryAnne Arcand is leaving the BC Forest Safety Council and the Forestry Trucksafe program in a month.

Arcand says, "After much soul searching and many considerations, I have decided to leave the BC Forest Safety Council, and the Forestry TruckSafe program, effective June 30."

She will be joining the management team of the Central Interior Logging Association as Executive Director, Membership and Services.

Arcand says her role "will be to oversee development and implementation of specialized services for the Association’s members, and also developing strategies to broaden and increase overall membership."

With the move, Roy Nagel will become will become Executive Director, Policy/Regulation and Business Opportunities.

Reynold Hert, Executive Director of the BC Forest Safety Council, says “MaryAnne will be missed at the helm of the BC Forest Safety Council’s TruckSafe program. We know she will continue to champion safety in her new role and we are excited to work with her and the CILA, one of our member organizations.”

Arcand begins her new job July 15th.

Which brings up the question of what part does/did the CILA play in the Trucksafe Program.

Perhaps "services" at CILA will mean that the program, or a component of it will move over? Or is the program now gone?

Might as well be gone no trucks in the bush anyway, they have all been layed off
Very true. Might as well close CILA organization as well.
