Prince George, B.C.-  The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George conditionally approved a Temporary Industrial Use Permit to R.D. Moyen  Holdings to operate an asphalt plant in the Tabor Mountain area. There are some conditions  attached to the approval, including:

  • a limit to the aggregate crushing hours of operation from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday  and
  • a requirement for corrective additive Absorb-All or similar product to be used at all times to control odorous emissions from the asphalt processing.

The permit covers a two-year period, and is conditional to Agricultural LandCommission approval.

sounds interesting, Its not good enough to be in the city, so take it out to the rural settings. Hmm ever drive by the new pellet plant by Dunkley in the early morning, I like to take air quality there.

Ahhhhh .. fabreeze for VOCs ... what'll they think of next??? So what happens to the VOCs that affect one's body?
I agree He spoke
can't cut it in town move out & pollute the ones who are quiet
What I would like to see, instead of all the nay-saying, is some suggestions as to what and where would be appropriate, since so many people seem to know better. We all want nice paved driveways and streets but heaven forbid we should smell the asphalt cooking. A little hypocritical, I would say.
I agree with you bigdog. Maybe we should just have gravel roads, then there won't be any problems, i guess

Whoops, sorry to repost, refreshing the page is not the thing to do.
repost and refreshing page has happened to me in the past. Maby Ben can find the glitch in the system.
I think its a good location... fairly windy up there and a heck of a lot better than his last location on Otway Road. This is a significant improvement for air quality in the North Nechako and the Foothills/Ospika area of town. He will also be well positioned for all the infrastructure spending planned out that way... I'd rather see it go to a local then those others that aren't local.
whatever you do, build a HUGE ashphalt plant. And fill those potholes quicker!!! Man o man, they are still bad....
Fix the potholes! If you need to put the temporary plant to make the ashphalt near where I live do it. I'll put up with a smell for a while in order to have a smooth ride.
