Abbotsford, B.C. - Adam Besse of Prince George brought home two awards from the B.C. Professional Truck Driving Championships June 27th.

Besse, who works for Canadian Freightways Ltd., won the safety award.  Besse also took 2nd place in the B-Train Competition.

The Championships were hosted by the British Columbia Trucking Association. The competition consisted of three sections including a written test which tests the drivers’ general knowledge of the industry and equipment, a pre-trip inspection which approximates the drivers’ regular vehicle inspection, and and the actual driving competition which simulates the everyday skills of maneuvering, cornering and judging distance.

To be eligible to compete, each driver must be free of preventable accidents for the twelve months prior to the championships.

Way to go man, Its not easy driving 100,000 lbs down the road, and some idiot in a smart car, thinks you can stop on a dime.
