RCMP were called to unit 6 at the Queensway Court Motel to find the injured man

A 44-year-old man has been air-lifted to Vancouver General Hospital with life-threatening injuries as a result of a beating at the Queensway Court Motel early yesterday morning.

Responding to a 911 call, RCMP and BC Ambulance Paramedics found the man unconscious when they arrived at the motel just before 5am Friday morning.  He was originally transported to Prince George Regional Hospital, but flown by air ambulance to Vancouver shortly thereafter.

Police say two people taken into custody have now been charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.  45-year-old Charles West of Takla Landing and 37-year-old Bernice Tom will spend the weekend in jail, before appearing in provincial court on Monday morning.
